Nursing history has had many important people and for this reason that now nursing is a professional discipline, because they worked in many investigations and they created different theories about nursing care. Between these people there are two important nurses. Dorotea Orem and Calixta Roy. I will out line some differences and similarities between these women.
These nurses had different styles of works but they have similar aspects such as; they sent to give better care at people, moreover, Calixta and Dorotea lived and development their theories in United States and sometime they worked with children.
Nevertheless, they have many differences too; firstly Roy had based her work in the person holistic care in contrast Orem had based her work in self-care. Other different aspect is the age, because Roy began her invention when she was an old woman and Orem began her invention when she was younger.
To sum up, Orem and Calixta were two important inventors in the nursing and I think that the theories of nursing had permitted to obtain a great recognition in the professional world. For this reason these inventors were important for nursing.
